Rejoice! | Dear Westside Family,
Rejoice! It’s right here! It’s right now! We are happy to announce that God has been faithful to our church family in the sale of our current building. As a people saved by God, sent by God and led by God, we give continual thanks for the direction we receive from our Creator and Redeemer.
On July 1st we completed the sale of the building and property on 173rd and Walker Road to the Young Nak Presbyterian Church. As you know, this sale was a serious decision grounded in the thoughtful, faithful prayers of our community. The service of many of our leaders and members has allowed us to confidently and faithfully step in this new and exciting direction.
While we will continue for a time to rent this facility for worship and Sunday morning classes here at Walker Road, we will now begin the process of sharing the building with the new owners.
Here are some very important pieces of information related to how the sale impacts us:
-
July 5th (This Sunday) – This will be the day that we move much of our long-term “storage” items into a nearby storage facility. Please come lend a hand, enjoy lunch and rejoice in the work and fellowship.
-
July 19th will be the first day that Young Nak will worship in their new building. What this means to us: we need to exit the property by 11:30 am and make sure we leave the facility clean and ready for the Young Nak congregation to engage in worship. This time is an opportunity for us to show Christ in our hospitality.
In the next two weeks we will be moving our Westside office to a nearby space that we are leasing at 1600 NW 167th Place, Suite 300, Beaverton, Oregon 97006. Make sure you come visit and check out the new space after we are moved in.
Finally, the shepherds and staff sincerely thank you for your prayers, patience, and commitment to this body of Christ. Thanks for your faithful prayers and action. Please continue with even more prayer and patience as we follow God on his planned journey for our congregation. We cannot wait to see and participate in the amazing things God has in store for us.
Peace to you all in the name of our Lord and Savior,
Westside shepherds

Message From Aaron | Saved by God, Sent by God, Led by God
“In your unfailing love, you will lead the people you have redeemed” (Exodus 15:13)
Welcome to the website for Westside Church of Christ. Westside is a community of Christ followers committed to living out the Christian story in all that we do as individuals and as a collective church body. I hope you will take a moment to look around our website and get a feel for what God is doing among these people who are committed to living the way of Jesus in our current contexts.
Our congregation’s location has been on the corner of Walker Rd. and 173rd Ave in Beaverton, Oregon for over twenty years, but lately we have heard God’s voice urging us to find another church home in the Beaverton area. We feel that God is sending us on a mission use and distribute our resources more faithfully as a community. This is an exciting adventure for us and we are actively seeking to listen and follow God’s leading during this time of transition.
Exodus 15:13 says, “In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed.” In many ways this verse summarizes much of how we see God working in our current church context. This passage presents God’s activity as past, present and future God has worked in the past, “you have redeemed” is working in the present, “In your unfailing love” and will work in the future, “you will lead the people.” We very much believe, here, that God has redeemed us, does love us and will lead us. This location transition is actually a way that we get to watch God actively work among his people and learn, once again, to trust in God’s faithfulness.
We are people who seek to not just speak the Christian message, but actually live out the story of Christ in our present world. If you would like to know more about how we do this (in our various ministries) please feel free to contact our church office. Thanks for dropping by the website and feel free to drop by our physical location to see how we are striving to live out the story of Christ.
Peace,
Aaron Metcalf

NW Children's Outreach | NW Children’s Outreach is in desperate need of diapers. They were unable to provide any diapers this week. Can you help? The diaper sizes they need the most are 4, 5 & 6.
There are three ways that you can get diapers to NW Children’s Outreach.
- Purchase and bring diapers to the building this Sunday for us to deliver to NWCO.
- Our MOPS group will be purchasing some diapers, so you can give the money to Candace Leslie or Janna Lewis and they will purchase the needed sizes and deliver them.
- Or the best way…is to go to NWCO website and make a donation on-line. NWCO has the ability to purchase with a discount, so they get more for their money.
Any one of these options would be great…we just need to help them get some diapers, so that next week they are able to provide these needed items to families with babies. |
