Aaron Metcalf - Minister of the Word

Aaron Metcalf has been serving in the role of Minister of the Word at Westside Church of Christ since 2008. His primary responsibilities include preaching weekly, teaching, vision casting, and pastoral counseling. Aaron is a graduate of Abilene Christian University where he earned at Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Ministry and a Master of Divinity. He is also a trained mediator and a certified ropes course instructor at Camp Yamhill. Aaron speaks regularly at conferences and church retreats, and has served as a guest preacher in many other churches. He has written for numerous periodicals and is a regular contributor to 21st Century Christian. Aaron is passionate about finding new ways for the church to partner with what God is doing in the world and enjoys thinking creatively about Jesus and cultures. He is also a proud father of two children (Ella and Miles) and husband to Chelan for whom he is abundantly grateful. He is an avid outdoor thrill-seeker who especially loves to go backpacking, fly-fishing, and camping. 



Jen Christy - Associate Minister

Jen Christy - Associate Minister

Jen has been serving with Westside as Associate Minister since January, 2015. Before that, she served at Pepperdine University as Associate Chaplain. In addition to over 8 years of university experience as a staff member and adjunct faculty in the Religion Division, she brings a Doctor of Ministry in Missional and Spiritual Formation from Lipscomb University (2015), a Master of Divinity from Abilene Christian University (2006) and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UC Davis (2001). 

Jen has three main areas of focus: general ministry, youth and children's education administration, and missional living (partnering for deep and meaningful community connections, giving and receiving hospitality that invites us into the mission of God, partnering in imagining and listening for what God is up to in our midst).

She loves hearing people's stories, breaking bread together, reading, writing, and being surprised by God. She is committed to living intentionally, authentically, gratefully, and missionally. She is joined by her husband Dave, who is a therapist by trade and photographer by choice and her children are Anna, Lucy, Jude, and Lane.
